Hello Parents & Guardians,

As a friendly reminder, it is important that you do not send your students to school if they are experiencing any cold, flu, or Covid-19 symptoms- such as:

* fever (100 degrees F or greater)

* chills

* trouble breathing/shortness of breath

* muscle or body aches

* severe headache

* stomachache (especially if accompanied by nausea)

* fatigue (very tired)

* vomiting

* diarrhea

* nagging cough (especially if it keeps them up at night)

* sore throat ( especially with redness, white spots, or swollen glands)

* very runny or stuffy nose

If they aren’t feeling well and are experiencing any of the above symptoms, please email me and I will have them excused. Please refrain from sending your students to school so that they can be excused by nursing, as this is unnecessarily exposing other students. We are currently seeing an increase in the flu, stomach bug, strep, and other seasonal viruses. Covid-19 is also starting to pick back up again. Even if your student tests negative for Covid-19, you should still keep them home if they aren't feeling well enough to be in school.

Please remember to have your student remain at home until 24 hours after having a fever, diarrhea, vomiting, or starting antibiotics for strep/conjunctivitis. Fever must be gone without using fever-reducing medications like Tylenol or Motrin. Remember, some children with the flu will not have a fever.

My goal is to team with you to ensure your student’s health and safety while they are at school. Let's work together to keep our students, staff, and community safe and healthy! Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance.
